What we do
TSDA leads and coordinates initiatives that strengthen Tanzania’s response to Sickle Cell Disease through.
Some of their main functions include: • Advocacy for better SCD care and policy • Building awareness in communities • Supporting improved access to diagnosis, treatment, and other care services • Strengthening the health workforce and capacities • Research and surveillance related to SCD • Coordinating with partners (public, private, other NGOs) to improve delivery of services. Also participating in programmes like aligning patient organisations in Tanzania around common vision & building governance, increasing knowledge among health care providers and caregivers, improving affordability and accessibility of treatment
